MARKET HEADLINES

• Rupee down 19 paise to 60.32 against US dollar The rupee weakened by 19 paise to 60.32 against the US dollar in early trade today at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on high demand for the American currency from importers. Forex dealers said though increased demand for the US currency from importers put pressure on the rupee but a higher opening in the domestic equity market and the dollar's weakness against other currencies overseas, capped the losses. Yesterday, the rupee strengthened by seven paise to close at 60.13 against the US currency on the back of a sharp rise in local equities, following a drop in global crude oil prices. Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose 58.90 points, or 0.23 per cent, to 25,427.80 in early trade today.
• Dollar moves narrowly in Asia trade The dollar held up against the yen and euro in Asia on Wednesday as dealers await the release of key US data later in the week. The greenback was changing hands at 101.92 yen in Tokyo midday trade, marginally down from 101.98 yen in New York Tuesday afternoon. The euro bought $1.3605 against $1.3606 while inching down to 138.67 yen from 138.75 yen. Not much of the data released Tuesday was terribly directional, said National Australia Bank in a note. The dollar was unable to break away from the yen in New York despite the US Conference Board saying consumer confidence increased for the second straight month in June to its highest level since January 2008. Separately, the Commerce Department said sales of new homes in May hit their highest pace since 2008. Sales surged 18.6 percent month-on-month to 504,000 units as the country moved out of the winter lull. Also, sales were nearly 17 percent higher year-on-year. "US house prices were soft, but the market chose to focus on strong new home sales. US consumer confidence was solid," it noted. The bank added that the euro also held its own despite a slip in Germany's Ifo index of business confidence. "Germany's Ifo, in contrast (to US data) was soft and disappointing," NAB said. The bank said markets were having another quiet day and were "likely to see lacklustre trading and the ebb and flow of unenthused participation".Junichi Ishikawa, market analyst at IG Securities, told Dow Jones Newswires that investors may find it "difficult to make a large move" ahead of Thursday's US consumer spending data for May.

DAILY DERIVATIVE REPORT FOR 09/APRIL/2014

F&O NEWS

India Indices- Monday Nifty Index opened -0.10 points down at 6694.25 in negative from the previous closing at 6694.35 and closed in positive at 6695.05. In the opening of the market Nifty opened at 6694.25 and made a day high of 6725.15 and from there we saw hyper selling in Nifty and it traded with the day low of 6650.40 near 12.30 o’clock after that we saw some recovery in nifty with normal buying but it could not sustained at its previous, at the end of the market nifty closed flat at 6695.05 near to our pivot level 6690.00 with +0.01%, +0.70 points up from the previous day closing 6694.35 and the full day Nifty Index traded between 6725.15-6650.40. At the end of the day Nifty futures Loosed -0.10%, -6.50 points down to close at 6737.70 from the previous day closing at 6744.20 with the premium of 42.65 points and percent change in open interest of +4.55%

Bank Nifty – Monday Bank Nifty Index opened +10.65 points up at 12562.35 in positive from the previous closing 12551.70 and closed in negative at 12506.45. In the opening of the market bank nifty opened with +10.65 points up and traded with the day high of 12615.35 and from there we saw continuous selling in Bank nifty and it made a day low of 12439.55 near 12.30o’clock after that Bank Nifty moved up with normal buying but it could not sustained at its previous level and closed in negative at 12506.45 with -0.36%, -45.25 points down from the previous day closing 12551.70. At the end of the market Bank Nifty Futures Loosed -0.49%, -61.80 points down to close at 12598.00 from the previous closing at 12659.80 with the premium of 153.35 points and percent change in open interest of +4.85%.  

FII’s Activity– According to FII’s Activity On April 03,2014 in F&O segment we saw FII’s were taking interest to create normal buying position in index options , we saw hyper buying and selling in index options and stock futures.

RESEARCH VIA DAILY DERIVATIVE REPORT 31/MARCH/2014

India Indices- Friday Nifty Index opened +31.30 points up at +6673.05 in positive from the previous closing at 6641.75 and closed in positive at +6695.90. Nifty opened with 31.30 points up with the day low of 6643.80 and after that the full market day we saw continuous buying and near the closing of the market nifty traded with life time high of 6702.60 and at the end of the market nifty closed in positive at 6695.90 with the life time high of 6702.60 near to 1^st resistance 6720.00 with +0.82%, +54.15 points up from the previous day closing 6641.75 and the full day Nifty Index traded between 6702.60-6643.80. At the end of the day Nifty futures Gained +0.78%, +52.40 points up to close at 6735.40 from the previous day closing at 6683.00 with the premium of39.50 points and percent change in open interest of +6.74%.

Bank Nifty – Friday Bank Nifty Index opened +88.30 points up at +12560.90 in positive from the previous closing 12604.95 and closed in positive at +12754.70. Friday bank nifty opened with 88.30 points up and made a day low of 12633.30 near 12 o’clock and after that we saw continuous buying and bank nifty traded with the day high of 12787.50 near the closing of the market at the end of the market day Bank nifty index closed in positive at 12754.70 with +1.19%, +149.75 points up from the previous day closing 12604.95. At the end of the market Bank Nifty Futures Gained +1.12%, +142.45 points up to close at 12870.00 from the previous closing at 12727.55 with the premium of 112.30 points and percent change in open interest of +3.09%. 

 FII’s Activity– According to FII’s Activity On March 26,2014 in F&O segment we saw FII’s were taking interest to create position in index options and index futures only we saw hyper buying and selling in index options and short positioning in Stock Options and stock futures.

ECONOMY ANALYSIS

• Banks lift Nifty above 6100, Sensex soars 170; Axis up 4%
• Bharti Airtel buys Loop Mobile, to get 3 mn subscribers
• GlaxoSmithKline Pharma Q4 profit falls 15.5% to Rs 117 cr
• ABB Q4 profit jumps 3.5-fold to Rs 58.6 cr, margin doubles
• RR Finance consolidated Dec '13 sales at Rs 18.18 crore
• RDB Realty consolidated Dec '13 sales at Rs 18.10 crore
• Interim Budget: Excise duties cut; FY14 fisc at 4.6%, FY15 seen at 4.1%

MARKET ANALYSIS

 

• MUMBAI: The benchmark Sensex today shot up 170 points to a nearly three-week closing high of 20,634.21, driven by gains in banking, capital goods and auto shares as investors continued to cheer the interim budget proposals. 

• The Sensex, which had gained 271 points in the previous two sessions, rose further by 170.15 points, or 0.83 per cent, to close at 20,634.21 -- the highest level since January 29. 

• Axis Bank, HDFC, ICICI Bank and Maruti Suzuki led the 21 gainers in 30-share Sensex. GAIL and ITC were among laggards 

• The 50-scrip National Stock Exchange index Nifty rose 53.80 points, or 0.89 per cent, to close at 6,127.10. 

• "While announcing the Interim Budget, the Finance Minister stated government will contain the fiscal deficit at 4.6 per cent of GDP. This has boosted investor confidence and buying interest was seen. Excise duty cuts in sectors such as Auto and Capital Goods also led to renewed buying," said Rakesh Goyal, Senior Vice President, Bonanza Portfolio.
